Patrick Michael operates patrickmichael.co.za (the "Site"). This policy explains what personal information the Site collects, why it is used, who helps process it, and the choices and rights available to you.
Information collection and use
The Site may collect information you choose to provide when you book a call, use a Voice AI demonstration, or register for an Event.
For an Event registration, the required information is your full name, email address, mobile number, and business name. Your role and one recurring business-call problem are optional. Do not include customer names, phone numbers, or other sensitive details in the call-problem field.
We use Event registration information to:
- store and administer the registration;
- contact you about payment, capacity, changes, cancellation, refunds, and attendance;
- prepare the workshop; and
- prevent duplicate registrations and maintain an operational record.
Required Event fields are needed to administer the registration. If they are not supplied, the registration cannot be accepted. An Event registration is accepted only after it is stored; it does not reserve a place until the required payment is verified.
Log data
Like many site operators, we receive limited technical information such as browser type, device information, requested pages, dates, times, and Internet Protocol address. We use Google Tag Manager for site measurement. Event analytics contains only the environment, Event slug, currency, and Commitment fee value. It does not contain attendee details, registration identifiers, payment identifiers, or private Event access tokens. Private Event registration pages do not load general page measurement; the confirmed state may load Google Tag Manager only to send this non-personal commitment conversion.
Communications
Event administration messages are limited to the registration and workshop you requested. Mobile and WhatsApp details are used only for necessary Event administration.
Optional marketing consent is separate, specific to email, and unticked by default. If selected, it permits email about Patrick Michael's Voice AI services and optional workflow reviews. Registration does not depend on this choice. You may withdraw consent or object at any time by emailing patrick@patrickmichael.co.za.
Cookies
Cookies are files with small amount of data, which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a web site and stored on your computer's hard drive. Like many sites, we use "cookies" to collect information. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Site.

Service providers
We use service providers only where needed to operate the Site and requested services. These include:
- Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics — site analytics and measurement
- Vapi — voice demo and assistant call handling when you use a browser call on the Site
- Cal.com — discovery-call booking when you use the booking flow
- Neon — storage of Event registrations, consent evidence, notification attempts, and registration or payment status
- Mailgun — delivery of Event receipts and operational notifications
- Yoco — hosted Event payment processing and payment or refund status; card details are entered with Yoco and are not stored on this Site
These providers receive only the information needed for their role. Provider processing may involve storage or access outside South Africa. Where personal information is transferred to another country, we use the provider's contractual, organisational, and security safeguards intended to protect that information. Each provider's own privacy terms also apply to information it processes.
Retention
Broader Event registration personal details are deleted 90 days after the Event or its cancellation. Optional marketing details are retained for up to 12 months or until consent is withdrawn, whichever comes first. Minimal suppression evidence may be retained after a withdrawal or objection so that the choice continues to be respected.
Minimal payment and refund records are retained separately for seven years for accounting and reconciliation. These records do not include card details. Patrick performs the Event cleanup and any required export manually.
Your rights under POPIA
Where the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA) applies, you may ask whether we hold your personal information, request access, ask for correction or deletion where applicable, object to certain processing, or withdraw consent. Contact the Information Officer below. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.
Security
The security of your Personal Information is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Changes to this privacy policy
We may update this policy when the Site or its service providers change. The latest revision date appears at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated where required.
